System Automation Engineer

We are looking for a system automation engineer to help ensure a smooth continuous deployment cycle and integration pipeline and overall reliability of a highly scalable, modular and maintainable platform that surfaces a variety of tools and applications.

FULL-TIME · AMSTERDAM

You will:

  • Collaborate primarily with Backend Engineers and Data Model Specialist as well as front- and backend developers.
  • Help build and maintain Continuous Delivery patterns and collaboratively work with team members to execute them to achieve a highly successful continuous deployment, delivery and integration pipeline.
  • Ensure that hardware, software and overall system architecture are secure, reliable, scalable, fault tolerant and efficient.
  • Automate server and cloud farm provisioning.
  • Automate zero-downtime software deployments.
  • Architect and implement the monitoring and alerting systems of various components.
  • Help select, deploy and maintain the tools required to optimize development processes.


You have:

  • Strong communication skills to support interactions with other members of the development team
  • A firm understanding of software development and computer programming, for full-stack implementations
  • Knowledge of running internet web servers (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, security, hardening, encryption standards)
  • Experience with the core suites of Cloud services related to DevOps Automation solutions, including the Management and Deployment of those services
  • Comfortable in using Configuration Management tools such as Ansible in creating continuous delivery systems
  • Good experience with Windows and Linux shell and scripting languages.
  • Understanding of VMs, linux containers and their applications
  • Ability to use a wide variety of (open-source) technologies and tools
  • Comfortable with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment cycles.

Bonus:

  • Experience with Container Orchestration using Docker and DC/OS for Stateful and Stateless Infrastructure
  • Knowledgeable on Content Distribution Systems
  • AWS Certified
